Wicked Game...Chris Isaak...Harmonic and Dorian minor

The song Wicked Game by Chris Isaak has some nice guitar in it.The spacey sound along with the scales chosen make the guitar really cool.
The song starts on a Bm chord,to an A Major then on to an E Major.A...B Harmonic minor is played over the B minor chord then on to a B Dorian minor scale....
B Harmonic minor...
B-C#-D-E-F#-G-A#-B (a B natural minor scale,but with the 7th played naturally)
B Dorian minor...
B-C#-D-E-F#-G#-A-B (a A Major scale)

Again, this is a song with some cool guitar added and a simple way of getting introduced to two different minor scales!

  1. Great video and thanks for the chord structure. I am an 80's baby so the sound of Chris Isaak definitely brings back memories. Now I am a little bit older and I work for an online acoustic guitar lesson website that features beginner guitar lessons and fun, easy guitar songs that anyone can play. So if you are just starting out on the guitar, please stop by and check us out and let us know what you think.

  2. he is such a great talent. and you can hear Roy Orbison's influence is very deeply embedded in Chris's voice structure, his deep almost bassist low parts leading up to a crecendo in the chorus. this is a haunting melody, and sound. when i first heard this song many years ago on mtv, i actually thought it was roy orbison. but Chris Isaak has earned his place in music on his own. he has a unique style that is difficult to match. This song will stand alone in it's own one of a kind sound for a long long time. to this day, i haven't heard another song that is in the same category with this one.
